A Daily Collegian article chronicles the increase in both the number of alcohol-related visits to the hospital, and the increasing Blood Alcohol Content of students who are checked in at the hospital.
Over the past four years, the number of visits has nearly doubled and average BAC has increased from .23 to .25.

Fire Department Responds to Phi Delt Incident
At approximately 3 A.M. on Thursday morning, the State College Fire Department responded to a call from Phi Delt, a fraternity on Burrowes Street.
The nature of the incident was not immediately clear (and there is no Collegian or other local article yet), but the Fire Department was seen handling some sort of challenge.

Penn State Drops Russell Athletics
After years of seemingly-futile protesting, a Penn State student organization finally persuaded the University to end ties with its clothing supplier, Russell Athletics.

THON Sets New All-Time Record
The Penn State Dance Marathon (THON) broke last year's total (the previous all-time record) as the total was $7,490,133.87, shattering last year's $6,615,318.04.

THON Dancers Prepare for Marathon
The 2009 Penn State Dance Marathon (THON) begins this evening, and dancers will endure 46 hours of dancing to promote the Four Diamonds Fund.

On-Campus Fraternity is Officially Shut Down
One of the four remaining on-campus fraternities, Beta Theta Pi (known colloquially as "Beta") has been officially shut down by their national chapter.
Members must vacate the house; a Collegian article states that they will be able to move into on-campus housing.

Penn State Students Protest Proposed Funding Cuts
About 100 students gathered this past Monday to protest the proposed $20 million funding cut in the latest State budget.
